Canopy

2026

Canopy is a monumental, site-specific installation that transforms a 2,500-square-foot gallery into an immersive environment, inviting collective stillness, reflection, and embodied presence. Informed by Byung-Chul Han’s critique of self-optimization culture, the work frames rest as a communal, radical act against the pressures of hyperproductivity and self-exhaustion. Through shifting light, soft materiality, and spaces for pause, Canopy reimagines monumentality as openness and proposes rest as a shared gesture of renewal and quiet dissent.
