Release

2012

discarded synthetic material

Travis Auditorium, Pasadena, CA

Release hangs down in repeated soft columns at the center of an auditorium.  On one end of the installation the material begins to lift off and moves away from the body of the work. This installation is a reflection on generational physical and sexual abuse. The work looks to resonate the silence and shame that surrounds abuse, yet also to the idea of healing and mending not in singular measure, but a return to devastation and restoration over and over again.
